2025 Tesla Model 3 and Model Y RWD to Feature New Battery Pack: 10% Longer Range
According to the latest leaks, Tesla is set to introduce a new battery pack, which could be "the most important battery product for Tesla in the next two years." This new battery pack is reportedly the 2025 CATL "6M" / "E1A" model.
The upcoming battery will feature a net capacity increase of 4%, bringing it to 62.5 kWh, compared to the current model's 60 kWh. It will utilize LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) or LMFP (Lithium Manganese Iron Phosphate) chemistry, although further details have yet to be disclosed.
Remarkably, despite the increased capacity, the new battery pack will be 1 kg lighter than its predecessor, showcasing significant advancements in weight reduction. This lightweight design is expected to enhance energy efficiency and improve DC fast charging performance.
